Meet Roxanne Walker…The South Carolina Broadcasters Association named Roxanne Radio Personality of the Year in 2002. She has been honored for her political opinion commentary by the Greenville Chapter of Women in Communications.

Roxanne resides in Taylors, SC with her husband Alan and the best dog in the world Allie.

Three Years and Counting...the Vigil

Three years ago this month, my husband and I were on a cruise ship in the Caribbean when the United States began bombing Iraq. We watched the shock and awe unfold in the bright sunshine, drinks in hand. I wasn't shocked by the beginning of the war and in fact was surprised President Bush waited as long as he did once Congress signed the blank check granting him war powers. So many of my fears have come to pass in these last three years I feel like I had the power to predict the future. Alas, I'm not that gifted, I just paid attention to my inner voice and gut instinct that said war with Iraq was inevitable and we were all just along for the ride in a car driven by Dick Cheney and his neo-conservative posse. I get the feeling that George W. was pretty keen on the idea of being a "war President" and getting to strut around like the cock of the walk, commanding the respect of the military and the general public. Respect he hadn't earned but wanted none the less.

Faith and Hope

I've been in a funk. I've been known to take part in some long bouts of self-pity and doubt and I guess that's what I've been suffering from for the past month or so. The feeling of being stuck in a dark place where no one can see or hear you. The feeling that you'll never move forward or be recognized for the brilliant, talented person that you know yourself to be. The despair of watching other far less talented people prosper, while you labor in obscurity. Maybe it was all those years in show business where I had my ego fed daily that makes me long for recognition. I crave an audience and have none.

Thanks for the Memories...Tana Hoban

Tana Hoban, a photographer who became a writer of children's books died on January 27, 2006 in Paris. Ms. Hoban happened to write a book that holds special memories for my son Ben and me.
