McCain Wins SC Primary-Where Do We Go From Here?

So…it’s 9:15pm and it looks like John McCain finally gets a win in South Carolina’s Republican Presidential Primary. All he had to do was forgo his integrity, kiss George W. Bush’s ass and be willing to play the POW card at every opportunity. Don’t get me wrong, yes, I respect McCain’s service to our country and the fact that he was imprisoned and tortured while in service to our country but I liked and respected him when he was unwilling to use his military service and his stay in a prisoner of war camp for political gain. It’s kind of like calling the media every time you give a significant gift to charity.

If McCain trudges on to victory on Super Tuesday and manages to win the GOP nomination, I say this sets up a clear choice for voters in November. A vote for McCain means more war in Iraq and more lives lost to a futile cause and a vote for the Democratic nominee means an end to a pre-emptive war that never should have happened. The Democratic Party is poised to make history by nominating the first female or the first African American as our presidential nominee. All of our candidates on the Democratic slate are strong, articulate, seasoned and well prepared to take on the leadership of our nation. I’m proud of the campaigns that have been waged thus far and look forward to moving on to victory in November!

I hope where we go is not Hillary Clinton. Clinton versus McCain is the worst possible matchup for the Democrats. All the independents would swing to McCain. I am afraid in our Primary the voters, especially the ones off the net, are not very well informed. What are you going to write about when it starts to sink in that millions of Iraqis are so thankful to us for freeing them from a dictator who terrorized his own people, killed and tortured thousands of Iraqis, and supported terrorism abroad?
Have you not seen the news? Since Bush convinced the weak Democrats in congress to once again extend the war, even increasing the number of troops last year, there has been nothing but success. Violence is down. Freedom is taking hold. (Now that's leadership!)
We came to get Saddam. We succeeded.
We stayed to help Iraq build a society based on freedom. Now that is succeeding too.
Millions of Iraqis thank their god that people with beliefs (and anger) like yours do not run this country.
Let's all hope we elect a strong leader who understands international politics, the importance of military strength, and the joy of freedom.
(It would also be great to have someone who is ethical and moral, unlike any Democrat running. Isn't it just so clear if you step back, forget your anger, and look clearly at the candidates?)

Oh James, you seem to confuse anger and outrage with truth telling. If we do elect a strong leader who understands international politics and if you elect any of the Democratic candidates you can accomplish that, it will be the first real leadership in the White House in the last 8 years. You call leadership and success a flawed military strategy that arrives 4 years and hundreds of thousands of deaths too late.
Wise up and listen to something besides hate I mean talk radio and Fox News.

I agree with James! I wonder how you will look in a Burka, Roxanne, if one of your prize candidates gets elected? And you are PROUD of the campaigns thus far? Didn't catch the shouting match at the debate the other night? They behaved like 2 year olds!

Dear Cindy,
It must be jarring to hear information that doesn't fit with what you hear on Fox or read in The Greenville News. Not quite sure what the burka reference is about, The Democratic Party represents America, putting forth a white female, a black man, a Hispanic man and of course a sprinkling of white men. The Republican Party offers up the same old same old, old white conservative men who don't have a fresh idea in their heads except to chant the name Ronald Reagan and pander to the religious right. It's rather sad. The Democrats are going to run away with this race and end the war watch and see!
